To say I’m terrible about updating this blog would be one of the largest under statements ever uttered. I really don’t write to draw attention to myself.
So, I am in the midst of moving , new life means new living arrangements. Out with the old into the unknown I suppose.
Anyway, I was packing up my office and uncovered a handful of poems I wrote years ago. It struck me as funny because a couple days prior I was explaining to a fellow chef that I’m not really gifted or skilled in poetry, so I never really tried my hand. Turns out, I have tried my hand and at least what i uncovered was not terrible.
Naturally, as one does when they come across something they wrote 20 years ago, I submitted a few pieces. Only one rejection letter, second attempt was accepted. Three of my poems, The Dance, Welcome, and Vampire will be published on December 13th, 2026.
I’ll be figuring out how I want to alter the website to add poetry to my written portfolio. In the meantime, It did get me submitting a bit more, particularly shopping a good semi-auto-biographical short story Shadows. Thus ends the update…
